Humble

Dear Blogstalkers,
"so guess where i am right now...BRAZIL hahaha you re probably wondering why the heck im doing in brazil. well im in a state called rivera, and its the border of urugay and brazil. so our our area is in uruguay but the down we shop at and get on email is in brazil. where to start. ok my trainer is elder sorenson, from utah, super goofy kid, works beyond hard. soo many blisters on my feet, but the blessing of blisters is each one equals one investigator we had to work hard to find. so im in whats called the campo. it means im in the feild of the field. all dirt roads, trails through the hills and forrest, and dirt houses. i have pictures but im essentially in the equivilent of what it looked like in the other side of heaven. but whats crazy is as soon as you cross into brazil its so nick. super ritzy stores everywhere, but as soon as you go back into brazil, it goes back into third world. so i spend all week in uruguay then p day the whole district meets, and plays dodgeball in the morning then we go to lunch then shop then go to sebers to email. i dont know the name for seber in english but its a store to use computers. my house is pretty...humble haha. i live in a four elder house, and when i got here is was trashed. i wake up and clean until study time, then clean when we get home, then today for p day after i finish emailing, im gonna clean the beez neez out of our bathroom. as well as do laundry. my most humbling experience so far is the first morning. we had no water except for in one tap for some reason. and it was only cold water. so to shower l lathered up, and then would fill the bucket, pour it on myself go refill, and pour it again until i was clean. i may or may not have cried a little bit. president is beyond cool. so nice and so patient. we have a member in our ward that is a convert of our president because presidnet served in rivera when he was a missionary, the convert is the stake patriarch. how cool would that be if i can say that some day about someone i baptized.

the first two days was definitely the hardest. the first night i cried haha, humble enough to admit it. but get ready to cry because this story is a whopper. so i bought a book in the distribution center, of church paintings and so the first night i was looking through it trying to keep myself together and i came across a picture of when christ heals a child. its a specific story in the bible but i forget the name. but its the daughter of somebudy, but anywhay hes lifting her from the bed, and i thought to myself... i dont know if i can get out of bed tomorrow, but if christ will be to lift me out then i can do one more day. and believe me when i say i didnt know if i could do it, if i was going to be able to get out of bed.  The next day one of the most powerful experiences of my life happened. i got out of bed.... and more than just that our first investigator of the day is named fabricio and we went and taught him about temples. and at the end of the lesson i said in spanish. "in temples we are sealled to our families forever, and this is one of the greatest blessings of my life. i am here in your country very far from home and my family, but its ok because no matter what happens to me i am sealled to my family for eternity." and i just started crying. because not only was it a good thought but because i really beleived it, and for the first time, i knew that no matter what, i was going to be ok because my family is built on the gospel and we are sealled in the temple." all day all that day i would just start crying randomly because i would think about that thought, and ever since, waking up in the morning is still very scary. honestly the courage to get out of bed right now, is a mountain. but every morning i believe theres an angel from God holding me up because every morning i dont know how i do it. its been a crazy four days.

so anyway back to lighter stuff. so since we are next to brazil we have a tropical climate. which means, heavy rain showers, and 110 degree days. sometimes both in one day, sometimes both at the same time. haha, but there are two things about that. one is if its raining here. no one goes to work (its a slightly lazy culture...they call it being traquillo) and everyone is home to talk to . and if its blistering hot people will invite us inside to give us water or juice. the people are so kind that way. so we meet alot of humble and cool people.  its pouring rain right now.

i dont have anymore time but i miss each one of you"
